by Yes, I was there at Gaya Street on Jan 22, 2006 night. It was really people mountain people sea (crowded). They all waited for something (see 1st picture). At 8:47 PM, hundreds of lanterns were lighted up after the launching ceremony. You can click this link to see the short video clip of lighting up ceremony. Such a cool view! Due to my shaky hand and no tripod support, many of the photos turned blur. I post a few “good photos” to share with you here. I want to go back to take more photos but unfortunately it was raining for 2 following days…
