| The altitudinal limit of the forest zonations of Tawai mountains is depressed more than other large mountain ranges such as Mt. Kinabalu. Therefore, the lowland zone is confined to elevations < 350 Meters, and upland zone between 350 Meters and 750 Meters, and montane zone to elevation > 750 Meters. This phenomenon is called Massenerhebung effect. |
