Kudat Coconut Festival (Pesta Kelapa), Sabah, Malaysia

The photos below were taken during the 9th Annual Pesta Kelapa in Kudat from Sep 8 to 10. I didn't stay until the last day (Sep 11) because I am not interested in the dragon boat race and band competition. The highlight of this coconut festival is the Coconut Fashion Competition, which drew a great amount of crowd. I must say it is the most interesting local specialised pageant, with over 50 coconut dress design being shown, wore by beautiful ladies and cute children. Luckily for those of you who didn't go to the pesta, you can see all the design here. You won't find this in other web sites. The coconut sport is also another event that you may like to check out.
